Wildfires

Just a quick update to let you know that we are well and have not been evacuated due to wildfires. The Fires are in Sierra Madre - North East of us, and evacuated homes are 15 min drive away. The fire is moving West towards Altadena - directly North of us and North East Pasadena is being told to evacuate.

I feel that we're pretty safe here, no houses have burnt in the mountains and the weather is supposed to start cooling down. They believe that the cause of the fire was arson, but Sat, Sunday and Monday were so so hot that I'm not really suprised a fire started somewhere. On our way back along the 210 from the Uplands Lemon Festival on Saturday (more on that later) we saw smoking and noticed - the mountain's on fire! As we watched it spread so quickly up the mountain. Now I know why people don't live at the tops of our hills.

Here's a map showing our house B and the latest area to be told to evacuate A.

Thanks for the FYI - it's good to know what's going on from you guys (as opposed to the media). It's strange that you're in an area that's dealing with fires and we've still got snow on the ground and I've been trying to avoid getting booters all week!

Hey--glad to hear you're safe. Will be praying for those fires and your area of Pasadena. It's getting warmer here too--it was 19 degrees the other day! I've officially pulled out the spring clothes.

Been on the road so hadn't heard about the fires but did see a wildfire and water bomber @ Shilo MB on May 1st.
