One week old! (ok, 9 days old)
Edmund is doing well, mom is doing well (well, I'm still on pain killers and not allowed to really leave the house...) Bronson loves kissing and hugging "boy" and gets very concerned whenever he hears a baby cry, he looks at you inquisitively and says "boy?".
B is also concerned with the manner in which I burp Edmund, by patting him on the back, I suppose to him it looks like I'm hitting, he glares at me a little while I do it. And since about 10 hours of my day is spent nursing and burping Edmund, that's alot of glaring.

Edmund was jaundiced when we left the hospital, and we've had 2 doctor appointments already to check on the jaundice. It got a little worse when we got home, but now it is getting better. He just needs alot of time in the sun in nothing but a diaper to clear it up. Luckily we are having beautiful sunny weather these days, so E and I are spending some quality time by the window and on the deck.

Me and my boys. Awwww.

In these pics you may see that E has dirty blond hair, his eyes are still deep blue at this point, though I imagine that both of those traits will change soon enough. At his most recnt docotrs visit he weighed 8lbs 14oz, so he lost a bit, but he grew an inch in height, now up to 20"3/4. True to our family form, he is in the 90th percentile for weight and height and 95th for head circumference. :)

Edmund Victor Kay Stevenson

Edmund Victor Kay Stevenson was born on March 17, 2009, at 2:44pm. He weighed 9lbs3oz and was 19"3/4 long.

Baby and Mommy are both doing well at the San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. We expect them to come home on Saturday. Until then, I'm sleeping at the hospital with them, helping them get through the nights, and napping uselessly through the mornings.

Bronson met his brother on the 18th, but really started to enjoy big brotherhood on the 19th. Here are some photos of the two of them getting along.
And here's a video:

Enjoy!

It's time!
When Bronson sees my big belly, he pats it, looks me earnestly in the eyes and says "Out?". He's right, it's time to get this baby out!

A couple of days ago my friend Melissa had her baby, and when I show B the pictures of her new baby girl and of her son holding the new baby, he smiles and says "baby out". He's also taken to swaddling his little baby doll in kitchen towels and shushing him. So, Bronson's ready, I'm ready, Grandma Val is ready, Grandma Diane has arrived and is ready, Matt's wrapped up his work until next Friday, so he's as ready as he can get. Tomorrow's the big day!

A visit from Aunty Teri & Uncle Jay

Teri & Jay arrived late Monday night and have been visiting with us ever since! Bronson LOVED having them over , he even says "Jay!", "Teri", "Day-see", and "Ruby". (Daisy is a cow and Ruby is the name of their car.)

We went to the aquarium and visited the lorikeets, the birds really liked uncle Jay. Bronson was the tour guide and showed us all the "fish" and "sharks". Before leaving we had lunch outside, where we were observed by many pigeons, this is where Bronson learnt a very important skill from his wise uncle Jay - how to shoo a pigeon. He thought it was hilarious.

We went to the Huntington...

B went on many campus walks with his aunt and uncle while mom napped and ran errands...

and we visited the mall! Well, the important parts of the mall - the food court and the carousel.
It was a great visit - we hope they'll come again soon! Now Jay and Teri are off to Grand Canyon adventures, then a long drive back home to Alberta.
In other news - my mom arrived yesterday afternoon, so now we're getting closer to having this baby. Also, this is post #200!
