Happy Halloween!

We did the same as usual this year, but because Bronson is older, it was way more exciting and enjoyable!

We decorated Halloween cookies - I forgot to get a shot of the finished ones, but let's just say about half of them had bite marks taken out of them, and Bronson had icing on his face.
(You can see Matthew's telescope pumpkin in the background)

We went to the Annual Astro Grad Student Halloween party. I've noticed that as the number of kids in attendance go up, the amount of available alcohol goes down. I'm at an age in my life where that makes me say Yay!

Laura and Walter (The Chileans) came as the couple from "Up".

Bronson was Roy G. Biv, to understand, click here and prepare to have your mind blown. We went as his rainbow. Although for other events Edmund went as an elephant. (Hopefully I can find a picture of that to post).

On Halloween night we went trick or treating with Bronson's friend Jesse (seen here as the fireman)! They had a great time, got a huge haul and were wonderfully polite. Neither wanted to let anyone carry their candy bags for them, but they were using both hands to drag the heavy bags back home.

And of course we took our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, where we played and found two perfect pumpkins (for us - they were actually quite funny shapes)

No pumpkin patch trip is complete without a tractor pulled train ride. This year it was narrated by the farmer himself!

It's that time again...

Time to pull out the thin sweaters, there's a minor chill to the air in California! Oh, and Halloween is coming too. Bronson loves his pumpkin sweater and insisted Edmund get one too. He wants them both to wear them all the time. He either is wearing the pumpkin sweater or no shirt at all.... a nifty little trick he picked up from some boys at daycare.

In other news Matthew is back from South Africa, he had a wonderful 2 week trip and the boys enjoyed daycare at Aunty Moo's and mom enjoyed a coffee by herself one day after work. Matt particularly liked Cape Town and would be for us moving there for a post-doc.

We are up in Owens Valley for a few days, about to head back this afternoon as Matthew has a fever and is still jet lagged (he was home only 3 days before heading up to OVRO) and needs some rest.

The boys had doctors check ups this week - Edmund weighs 20 lbs 6 oz and Bronson weighs 37 pounds. They are healthy and looking good. We have recently started flossing Bronson's teeth, just to get in the habit of it, and he loves it. Edmund has recently sprouted 2 teeth on th bottom, which have yet been elusive to the camera.

Oh my! Bronson and I look out the window as I write this to see a wolf walking through the back yard of the cabin. Matthew recently told Bronson the story of the boy who cried wolf, so Bronson is telling me that the sheep are in trouble.

The boys

Spoiler Alert: Edmund sneezes around and Bronson counts.
